Sadie Hawkins...

Mitchell got asked to the Sadie Hawkins dance last night by Megan Wattles. Her mom warned me that the invitation would be gross, her brother in law was having fun helping her plan it... so if you have a weak stomach, stop reading now...

The first clue was hidden in his car...

There was a jar with this note on it...
"A special de"liver"y for Mitchell is waiting behind the MC chapel dumpster and it will be stating where you should go for your next clue, with all the instructions for what you should do."

yes this is a "liver".

The next clue said "use your head and don't be a fool, return to the place where you went to grade school. Climb to the top of the slippery slide, this is where your next clue I'll hide."

and yes, this is a fish head...

The next clue said "Don't get crabby, the time is at hand, go get your treat in the sweet creamy "land", where kids of all ages go to be seen, don't get confused it's not Dairy Queen. go to the place where you give them your money, but you better hurry fast or your treat will get runny." (the place was "yogurtland")

yes, this is a crab.

Next clue, " I hope that these clues aren't frying your brain, but if they are, then go stand in the rain. Go to the home where their name rhymes with onion, this last clue is gonna be a fun one."

you guessed it, a brain...

He went to the Runyon's and out in the pool he found this:

Yes that is a cows heart!

As you can imagine, he is thinking hard how he can answer her. He is excited to go!
I have a hard time believing that he is 16 and old enough to go!

I am still alive...

after eating only this for the last 10 days!

after eating only this for the last 10 days!

A week ago Tuesday I saw my neighbor out front and she had just started The Master Cleanse Diet and I told her that I was pondering what diet I was going to start and she told me I should give this a try... so without any mental preparation, I borrowed her book and started reading and drinking away. It is a cleansing diet that you do for 10 or more days... It is suppose to clean out your colon and rid your body of toxins.

All you drink is 8 oz water, 2 tbs pure maple syrup, 2 tbs fresh squeezed lemon juice and 1/10 tsp of cayenne pepper. You can have as many of those a day as you need, at least 8. And you take a laxative or drink a salt water mixture to make you go to the bathroom... It was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done! It was very hard mentally! I learned a lot about myself through the process... I learned that I eat mostly because i am bored or need something to do with my hands, I can live on a lot less than I normally eat, I have more will power than I thought, I craved oatmeal of all things and I can do hard things!

So, was it worth it?? yes. Was I hungry?? Only when my family was cooking meals. They had the nerve to make bacon like 4 times! that was hard! I miss food and I am excited to start eating again. I have to ease into it with juice and soups...

Now I just have to keep it off and get 40 more pounds off!! It should be a fun year! haha...

Happy Birthday Tanner!

My baby is 12 today!!! How could that be??? He will be getting the Priesthood this week! He is very excited about that. He has been working really hard the last few months to get his Faith in God done.

Tanner is the funny boy in our house! He keeps us laughing all the time. Yet, he is very sensitive. We love our Tanner!! A few of his favorite things at the age of 12:
Taco Bell
pizza
his new itouch
the wii
any show on nickelodeon
facebook
holding babies
hanging out with mom and dad. We are especially happy about this one, glad we are still ok in his eyes.

resolutions...

We made New Years resolutions last night for Family Night. One of mine was to start scrapbooking again. I miss it. I signed up for 2 classes HERE. I am taking a scrapbook design one and a photography one. I am excited about both! I took the design one last year and only got to week 2! Life got busy and I never finished it. I will finish it this year!

Today I made one layout for the design class and took a few pictures for the photography class.

Here they are:

This layout was suppose to be a 2 page spread that used the pink, brown and orange colors.
She gave us blank digital template and i just had to fill it all in. It was fun to make a digital page! I won't tell you how long it took me though... I am still learning the digital thing.

I was suppose to take a picture using my portrait mode and my action mode...

December catch-up!

Wow... what a month. I've been trying to get on here for a couple weeks now, but you know how crazy things are in December. Oh well... enough excuses... Here I am.

To start the month off, Mitchell got his drivers license! Crazy I know. He is happy to have some freedom and his parents are nervous every time he leaves the house! I have a hard time falling back to sleep when he leaves for seminary. He needs to get a job fast or he will be parking the car soon. He has to pay for his own gas. So, if you know of any jobs out there, let us know!

This is the day his official license came in the mail!

LAS VEGAS BOWL
We were lucky enough to get tickets to the BYU bowl game.
It was a great game and we were happy to see BYU beat Oregon State 44-20.
The only draw back to the game was that it was FREEZING!!!!!
We bundled up and sat close together and enjoyed the game.
We sat by the Jarmans and the Leavitts, but I didn't get a picture of the Leavitts, sorry Elizabeth!

Ashley and I...
Our niece Kathryn is in the BYU marching band, so we got to see her at the game.
They did a great job at half-time.
Go Cougars!!
John and I trying to stay warm!

Christmas Eve

It has become a tradition to go to our dear friends, the Lords for Christmas Eve dinner. Keri makes a delicious meal! and the table is set so pretty! She always have poppers at the table and we all get a crown inside and a little toy. So fun! We love this tradition.
Dishing up...
Yum Yum
John must have food in his mouth... sorry honey, it's the only picture of you.
Keri and Nick
Tanner and his prize...
We realized that none of the kids had ever seen It's a Wonderful Life! So we sat down and watched it. You would have thought we were torturing them... I guess they aren't mature enough for it yet, or they were just too anxious for Christmas morning???
I can't tell you how many times they asked how much time was left.

Christmas Day

Mitchell got tickets to go see the Bears game with his dad! He was so happy!
Tanner being goofy!

Ashley got some Ugg boots and she was in heaven. Happy 19th birthday Ashley!!

Scott and Jenn posing for my new camera...

The sister missionaries, Scott, Jenn, Afton, Joanna (Jenn's mom), Chris (Jenns Brother), his wife Stephanie and their two boys came over for Christmas dinner. It was fun to have a house full! We had a turkey dinner, watched Ashley open her birthday presents and had yummy dessert!

Sister Johnson, Sister Rumler, Joanna and Tanner hanging out...
Ashley got a new phone! Happy day!

Christmas Train

John and Mitch in Chicago for Monday night football!

John and Mitchell stayed at his sister Annette's house for the game. She lives about an hour north of the city. They had a great time playing with the kids and catching up with them. His mom was out there visiting, so that was a bonus to see her!

Ammon and Everett being boys!
Playing games...

You can't go to Chicago with out getting the best pizza in the world! I am so jealous!
Their tickets were in the NBC Suite! All the food you wanted! They were in heaven!

Happy boys!!
Mitchell taking advantage of the free food!
Go Bears!! They beat the Vikings in overtime!! It was a very exciting game!!

Kevin home from his mission

We drove up to Utah on New Years Eve to see my nephew Kevin return from his mission in Chile. He was so cute! My sister planned a big welcome home party at my brothers showroom up in Heber. There are all sorts of fun things to do there. I'm glad we were able to go!

My cousin Julia with Kevin...

The best part of Christmas was having Ashley home! It was hard to drop her
back off at BYU on Sunday! I miss her already!

Beautiful sights on our way out of town...

I couldn't believe that we saw a Bald Eagle in Lehi!
